Soldier Saints

Every time a Canadian soldier is killed, his friends and family extol him as a saint. They assure us he was kind, helpful — a total boy scout. They refuse to acknowledge that he chose as his profession killing civilians in illegal wars on the other side of the world, who were no threat to him, him country or his family. It is not as though he was a WWII (World War II) soldier, sacrificing his life to defend his country. Today’s soldiers are only one step above Blackwater mercenaries in moral responsibility.
