The Secret Of My Success

Back in the 1970s I was one of the gay lib pioneers. When I came out publicly, I knew of no other person who had done so previously, though I found out later there were plenty. I had success that blew my mind, thousands of times better than I expected. It was as if I gave the universe the merest tap and it shifted. I think the secret is this. I did not see my job as persuading anyone of anything. I was simply teaching everyone how it really was, mostly by dispelling ridiculous misconceptions. I wonder if I might be able to do the same for religion in general. This could simply be outrageous conceit. It could be the world was ready to change and millions of us acted almost at once, inspired by seeing the early results of everyone else.
