Here is an email I received in response to one of my essays.
It means that they were thought to be unclean but you should remember that this was written in Jesus’ time and you should probably read the entire chapter to understand the meaning.
Of course. I agree, most of the bible is downright silly and should be ignored. However, most Christians are highly attached to the nutty bits. After all, the bible is the supposedly the word of God and He has not sent any notice He has changed His mind. According to the fundamentalists that I fight with, mere mortals have absolutely no authority to pick and choose which bits of God’s word they will follow and which they will discard as too silly or obsolete to take seriously. Of course they do it anyway, but won’t admit they do. They are not totally crazy.
It makes me sad to see that there are people in the world that are ignorant enough to post this garbage online. Dont bother responding. I dont care what you think and I dont care how old you are or what you think you know.
That does not make sense. Why then did you write me attempting to change my mind? Why then did you ask me a question?
I will tell you simething. I am 14 and I know more than you.
I am 70 years old. I have a degree in mathematics. I have been programming computer professionally since I was 15. Back then, I was the youngest computer programmer on the planet. Surely you don’t include mathematics, computer science or spelling in your categories of superior knowledge. If you were as wise as you claim, you would be able to set me right, point out the errors on my website and explain the logical flaws. You were unable or unwilling to do so.
That there is something to be learned from the dead. they have much to teach us. Just because it is unpleasent doesnt mean that we should get rid of it. Duh.
Where did you get the idea that I think just because somebody is dead they have nothing valuable to say? You will find all kinds of quotations from dead people dotting my website.
Have you ever read tuesdays with morrie? It is an exceptionally good book and I suggest that you go to your local library and chack it out.
I heard about the book, but when I discovered the author also wrote The Five People You Meet In Heaven I figured it would be too schlocky for my taste.

Greyed out stores probably do not have the item in stock. Try looking for it with a bookfinder. |
