You have probably seen advertisements for video cards based on Nvidia chipsets bragging about how many CUDAs they have. CUDA is Nvidia’s scheme for parallel processing on their GPUs (Graphics Processing Units). For example the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 has 1280 CUDA cores. CUDAs are processing units.
Nvidia worked out a way to use the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) for general purpose parallel computation using a stripped down C language. They also refer to this as CUDA.
