NAS (Network Attached Storage). is file-level computer data storage connected to a computer network. The hard drive itself attaches to your LAN (Local Area Network) and has firmware in it to make it behave as a file server. This lets you share a large hard disk between all users on a LAN, typically used to store large movie or music collections. Western Digital red line of disks have built in NAS.
