Here is an email I received in response to one of my essays.
Your webpage on combating christianity is really good. You use great wording and sentence structure. Too bad your beliefs are all based on nothing. Maybe you should learn a bit more about Christianity before you deside to bash it. Sorry you haven’t been touched by the Holy Spirit. I’m sure you have an explanation for it but, the truth is you can’t judge Christianity without fully experiencing God. You’re entitled to your beliefs just as I am. I don’t condemn you for that. Just keep in mind Saul’s (Paul’s) conversion. You might be next. Love ya despite. Proverbs 3:5-6.
If you read my hallucination essay you will see I have had a number of life shattering experiences, which lead me to explore religions, including Christianity, as a possible explanation. After reading the Bible from cover to cover, I decided it was largely bogus, though parts of it were pure. I still don’t know the truth. I simply know falsehood when I see it. I give my reasons for considering the Bible largely bogus in my many essays.
I find Proverbs 3:5 expresses a disgusting sentiment. It implies that Christianity is illogical and make no sense. The only way you can stomach it is to shut up and ask no questions. A true religion would easily be able to stand up to the light of scrutiny. Christianity has no appeal to reason. It can only take hold of a mind if fed in at an early age or under extreme emotional stress. Once in, it distorts the ability to think clearly. Christians would claim shit did not stink if it said so in the Bible.
You may wonder at my vehement response to your friendly message. St. Paul’s nuttiness about homosexuality has caused no end of grief in my life dealing with zealot Christians who thought it meant was their duty to make my life as miserable as possible. Further, here in Canada we have a top politicians trying to teach blatant creationist nonsense in the schools. What next, that the earth rests on the backs of a pile of turtles?
