You are a liar

Here is an email I received in response to one of my essays.

You Are A Liar : Rusty Shackleford PFC (Private First Class) : walker182@hotmail.com : 2005-11-30

He is writing about my essay 17 Reasons Not to Enlist.

I don’t know where you get your information from but almost everything you said in your 17 reason to not enlist is a lie. I know this because i am a soldier. How much time have you spent in Iraq? None, right? theres a lucky guess. how can you comment on what is happening over there if you have never seen it?

Granted you know 1000 times more that I do about how to murder, maim, rape and torture. On the other hand, I know 1000 times more than you do about when you should murder, maim, rape and torture. Hint: you have no business even being in Iraq much less killing, maiming, raping and torturing people. You are in international war criminal because the U.N. declared your invasion and occupation illegal. You are on the same legal shaky ground as a Nazi who participated in the invasion of Poland..

As far as soldiers making $14,000 a year, i was making $3,000 a month when a was a private E-1 in army basic training. thats the lowest rank in the military, in other words no one is making less than $36,000 a year.

The source for my information is impeccable, the recruiting site of the US army, goarmy.com. Had you checked my link, you would know that. The number I quoted is for a Private E1 basic bay for active duty. Instead you made an ass of yourself accusing goarmy.com of lying about pay. Perhaps you are including your meals and accommodation as benefits. In a civilian job you get such benefits too when you work away from home and hotel food and beds beat the army any day. They are not considered part of pay by the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) or civilian employers. The army likes to deceive recruits by pretending they are special benefits.

Perhaps you were referring to flight pay. Fight pay rewards Army pilots, navigators and other aviators for their service and duty. That would not apply to the typical recruit.

Your average recruit is a loser who can’t get a real job. The army is the employer of last resort. For nearly all of them, the army is a dead end job. Just look at the emails I have received from recruits. Not a one can compose an English sentence to save his life.

You say that pay does not increase with experience. In the military you are promoted through the first 4 ranks by time in grade. you say a private doesn’t receive more money even after 6 years. the true is, a private would be an E-4 corporal or specialist in 2 years. making a lot more than a private does. You can write whatever you want. its a right that have because brave men fought for it. but in the end at least you and i will know that you are just making up lies to fit your views.

goarmy.com disagrees with you. They show no increase in pay even after 4 year for a basic E1 Private. Obviously pay increases with rank, but only a few people will attain the high paying ranks.

if you’d like to know how many of your other reasons are untrue, drop me a line, i’d be happy to go through the rest of them.

I wrote you back twice and you did not respond, so I guess your other arguments are equally full of hot air.
