first of all, thank you for this great essay. I have laughed a lot and swear aloud each time I see one of these items of yours in the code I am currently working with.
I found another one worth mentioning because it really fulfills the unmaintainable code philosophy. I”ll give it a try and will see what happens.
Suggest using a code versioning tool and add 95% check in comments like corrected spelling mistake or add spaces/parentheses/newlines according coding standard. Anybody like you will know which are the important changes to the code. Check In history is intended to help you understand the code. At the same time, management will love you for your great teamwork effort.
