Mandatory Celibacy

Would a Christian embrace celibacy for life just because somebody else’s religion said they should? especially even if they did embrace celibacy they would still be treated as a pariah? Obviously not. Then why do Christians expect gays to kowtow to their religion? Why do they think the government should join in the irrational vendetta against gays?
