Common Intelligent Life

What is going to happen when we discover that life and intelligent life, are common both in our galaxy and in the universe?

• We might re-evaluate how precious we consider life. It is super abundant, so perhaps not so sacred.
• The Christian notions of the universe being created solely for their delectation will look pretty silly.
• The notion that Christianity is some privileged religion will look preposterous.
• The notion that humans are the most important animals on the planet may be shaken.
• We may change our attitude to preserving the planet and protecting endangered species as we pick up on the galactic ethic.
• We may have to get used being treated like children by a galactic bureaucracy.
