Clam AntiVirus
Clam antivirus is an opensource, free, virus detector. It does not have algorithms for removing viruses other than deleting files. It comes with C source you can compile for your platform. There is also a front end called ClamWin, Clam Antivirus for Windows, that contains does not require compilation.

It is a no-frills virus checker no scheduling of program updates or virus definitions. You can get a update of the virus definitions with one click. It has an annoying habit; it won’t minimise during scan.
