education : Java Glossary

University level education is the easiest to broadcast to the Internet. Profs lecture to giant halls and rarely talk to a student. These lectures with transcribed notes should be available freely on the net to anyone anywhere who wants to learn. Computers can teach lower levels where you need drill much more effectively that live teachers. Government should fund programming, scripts and electronic text books then put them on the net for the world. This will do far more good in the long run than the pitiful amounts of foreign aid. We are being dogs in a manger refusing to share this information.

The following course need to be added to the elementary and high school curriculum:

• touch typing
• Practical government: how to do income tax, how to lobby, how to campaign.
• Practical home management: e.g. keeping cords in repair, cleaning drains, fixing toilets, efficient shopping.
• Diversity: learning about the customs, food, language, religion of the various groups in the local community.
