RESTful

RESTful (Representational State Transfer) is a design idiom that embraces a stateless client-server architecture in which the web services are viewed as resources and can be identified by their URLs.” Huh?

It is very similar to SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol). It lets you submit queries in XML (extensible Markup Language) and receive replies in XML from a server. The authors of RESTful clearly want to impress you rather than inform you.
