Swing Custom Components
To write your own custom components in Swing there are two basic strategies:
  1. Find a JComponent similar to what you want to do. Study src.zip to see how it works and either extend it, or write something similar, usually leaving out the UI (User Interface) LAF (Look And Feel) stuff.
  2. Extend JPanel with a new paintComponent method and perhaps a few other touches.
