Post hoc, ergo propter hoc. It means, After this, therefore because of this. In plainer language: Event B follows Event A, so B must be the direct result of A. It is a classic fallacy in logic. For example, someone notices a child getting autism after having a vaccine shot. They leap to the conclusion the vaccine caused the autism. If nearly everyone is vaccinated, you can then blame everything, even hang nails on the vaccine. Cave people may have noticed that pregnancy often occured after a young man gave a young women some meat, and concluded the gift of meat caused pregnancy.
