Kensington Lock
aka K-slot. A simple lock system for laptops and monitors. The lock fits into a reinforced slot in the laptop. The other end is attached to a cable which is looped around some permanent object. If the thief yanks the lock out, it will damage the case making it harder to sell. He could also cut the cord with cables cutters. It is designed only to discourage casual theft.
