megahertz: a way of rating the speed of a CPU. Ofen abbreviated MHz. Megahertz means millions of cycles per second. A 800 MHz CPU, all else being equal, will calculate twice as fast as a 400 MHz CPU. Of course, unless the chips are of very similar design, all else is nowhere near equal.
