trackstick : Computer Hardware Buyers’ Glossary

trackstick
If you marry a USB (Universal Serial Bus) flash drive to a GPS (Global Positioning System) unit you get a trackstick aka personal tracker. These can be used for tracking movements. When you retrieve the unit, it will tell you the route the trackstick has been on. You could use these to monitor your foreign travel routes, truck drivers, delivery routes, your kid’s driving, an errant spouse’s perigrinations… You can also use it to record the time and location a photograph was taken, with a latitude/longitude to location name database.
