TV tuner card : Computer Hardware Buyers’ Glossary

TV tuner card
A card that lets you view television programs on your computer monitor. They may or may not support HDTV (High Definition Television). They usually allow you to capture stills or video for later viewing. Sometimes the feature is built into a video card. Lower end models use the computer’s CPU (Central Processing Unit) to do the picture processing, which would mean your computer would slow down whenever you were using the TV feature.
