Queer Eye: Queer Eye For The Straight Guy was a TV program where a team of kind-hearted nelly queens did makeovers. They remodel houses, wardrobes, hair and makeup and generally do whatever they can to make their targets feel good by cooking up irresistable fun for the inner child. Though the gay stereotypes are over the top, the show makes it clear that gays are people too, and do all kinds of things besides have sex. What I love most about the show is straight people and gays people mingling without awkward awareness of who’s gay and who’s not. It shows parents unafraid to let their kids talk to gay people. The show models relaxed gay-straight behaviour for everyone.
