shut up: Normally shut up is a rude demand for silence, but in black slang it can also means, “You’re kidding, that can’t be true.” It can also be used as an endearment. Anyone who was not the beloved, would treat it as an insult. Therefore using the word implies intimate status, a licence to take licence.
