slash fiction
Fan-written fiction using characters from TV series, especially Star Trek, where the men have gay relationships with one another. The authors and readers are typically heterosexual women. It is cross between romance and soft-core porn. Genres are named by combining the names of two characters, e.g clex for Clark Kent and Lex Luther. Sometimes the definition also includes heterosexuals pairings so long as the two characters were not romantically involed in the ordiginal TV series.
