autocompletion : Java Glossary

autocompletion
Autocompletion is a feature of word processors and data entry programs that means you don’t have to type an entire word, just enough of it to resolve any ambiguities. Often the program will show you several possible completions and let you click or arrow to select one rather than typing the whole word. This of course works best in multiple choice situations. You might use autocompletion in a custom JComboBox where the possibilities are fixed at compile time, or are dynamically determined from a database.
