CDN (Content Delivery Network). A geographically distributed network of servers that serves a page from the server closest to the user. This is how Google is able to handle such stupendous volumes so quickly. In the simplest case, the servers merely cache pages from a master server. In a more elaborate case, they serve original content, from distributed copies of the same data.
CDN is often used as the abbreviation for Canadian, though the official country code and currency code is CAD (Canadian currency). Somebody on the ISO (International Standards Organisation) committee did not like Canada.
