code signing certificate
A certificate used to sign your computer programs you write to prove it was you who wrote it, and that no one tampered with it. You can buy such a certificate from companies such as Thawte, or you can make your own using keytool. You sign your jars with jarsigner. You use a Java code signning certificate to sign jars, and an Authenticode certificate to sign Microsoft cab files and PAD (Portable Application Description) xml files.
