Hewlett-Packard: Hewlett-Packard was orginially known for making high quality lab computers and instruments. They then invented the laser printer and produced the high quality ink-jet printers and scanners. They merged with Compaq which had earlier bought out DEC Digital Equipment Corporation. They have gradually moved from the high end quality market to the mass market. In the Java world, they are best known for their free profiler HpJMeter,
