JavaClass : Java Glossary
This non-descript name could refer to a number of diffent projects:
for byte code engineering, i.e. taking class files apart and creating them
without a compiler. JavaClass is a general purpose tool for Byte Code
Engineering. This API (Application Programming Interface) is intended to give
users a convenient way to read, create and manipulate the binary Java *.class
object files. Classes are represented by JavaClass objects which contain all the
symbolic information of the given class including the method headers, fields and
method code bodies. Such objects can be read from an existing file, transformed
by the application and written back out to a new *.class file. The JavaClass
library may be also useful if you want to learn about the
JVM (Java Virtual Machine) and the format of Java *.class files.
