leading: A printers term for the vertical space between baselines. 1 pica spacing gives 6 lines per inch. The term refers to the lead metal strips used to separate rows of movable type in the early days. Leading white space refers to whitespace (characters 0..31) on the beginning of a line. Here it is pronounced leeding.
