persistence capable : Java Glossary

persistence capable
A class that has been modified so that its objects can be saved in a persistent object database. It must keep track if any of its fields have been modified (i.e. if it is dirty) and if so, eventually arrange have the object written to disk again. It would likely implement the Serializable interface to use the standard Java flattening.
