seconder
For an idea to live to fruition, it must go through four stages:
  1. The originator has to come up with the idea.
  2. The originator has to tell the idea to others in a clear way.
  3. The idea needs a seconder, someone who says, "This is idea is good. It deserves pursuing."
  4. Then the idea needs people to implement it. This requires some combination of financing, technical expertise and marketing.
Most ideas die at stage (2). Thus the rôle of seconder is absolutely crucial. There are so many people eager to stomp to death young ideas, ones that are not yet perfected.
