slipstreaming : Java Glossary

Microsoft installations are usually two-part. You must install the base OS (Operating System) then apply the latest fixpack. The master CDs (Compact Discs) you buy don’t have the latest fixpack already installed. With Windows 2000 there is now a technique officially known as integrated installation and unofficially known as slipstreaming to install the OS and apply the latest fixpack all in one step.
