To find the smallest of three ints use Math. min, e.g.

// finding the smallest of three ints
int smallest = Math.min( Math.min( a, b ), c );

// also works with long, float and double e.g.
double smalleestDouble = Math.min( Math.min( aDouble, bDouble ), cDouble );

To find the smallest of a set, you presume the first element is the smallest, and then look for an even bigger element.
