web server

Software that lets the people on the Internet read HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) pages off your hard disk. It makes you into a mini ISP (Internet Service Provider). You might also install a webserver to speed up link checking. Free servers include:

Apache. (Select 'Apache for Win32')
Microsoft Personal Server. See the install CD (Compact Disc) under the subdirectory add-ons\ PWS (Living Love Pathways).

Nowadays you usually don’t just hava a vanilla HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) server. You combine it with a Servlet womb of some sort.
