I also see thousands of square feet of totally unoccupied space.
Once I left my passport locked in the train station in Portland. No hotel would let me in without it even though I had plenty of credit cards and cash. They would not even let me into get warm. I shivered the snowy night in my light jacket trying to stay awake so I would not freeze to death. I cursed the city of Portland for its inhospitality and vowed never to go back.
I feel similar rage at Victoria and its petty city council regulations that push the poor out into the cold. How miserly when the rest of us are toasty warm around our fireplaces! What a satanic way to celebrate Christmas!
