Planet earth cannot possibly sustain 7.601 billion people, yet here we are with religious fruitcakes trying to interfere with every attempt to slow down the runaway growth. All environmental problems are exacerbated by excess population. Read my essay on the overpopulation problem.
The population clock above may differ from others since this one is based on US Census data and others may be based on UN (United Nations) data. UN data gives higher population estimates. The clock takes into account both births and deaths. You are free to include this clock on your own website.

To install the clock on your own website, put the population.jar file on your website in the same directory as the page where you want to show the clock. Then insert the following markup in the web page where you want the clock to appear.
<!-- markup to include the World Population clock on your own webpage --> <applet archive="population.jar" code="com.mindprod.population.Population" style="width:340px" height="140" alt="You need Java 1.5 or later to run this Applet."> Sorry, you need Java 1.5 or later to run this Applet. </applet>
You can change the colour schemes, fonts, wordings etc. by modifying the Java source code in Population.java, but that requires at least beginner Java programming skill.
