A project to develop a free, open source Java EE 5 aka 1.5 (the next version of J2EE ) platform. Glassfish does everything a web server like Tomcat does plus J2EE, clustering, failover and dynamic reconfigurinrg without having to shutown and restart. In general, applications written for Tomcat will run unmodified on Glassfish. Oddly, Glassfish is faster than Tomcat.
