A friend of mine once remarked that a woman was so jealous, she peed on her boyfriend to mark him as hers, much the way a tiger marks its territory with urine.

I have discovered an analogous technique for getting ideas accepted. You must present them in a slightly flawed way. Then someone else mentions the obvious correction and you change the idea. Now he has peed on the idea. It is now his idea too. He is now more likely to champion it now he thinks of it as partly his or even fully his.
