Ari Fleischer was Bush’s press secretary, aka Minister of Propaganda, aka Presidential Nanny, aka King George’s Lord High Buttwiper, aka the royal farter, aka Secretary of Greenhouse Gas Emissions. This guy is so confident the people will believe whatever swampgas comes out of his mouth just because it comes from the presidential podium, that he makes howlers. He does not even bother to make up plausible lies.
The reason to go to war is to save lives.
~ Ari Fleischer (1960-10-13 age:57), 2003-02-25
You heard the President today say in the Oval Office, one of his greatest worries are the innocents of Iraq, who will be targeted by Saddam Hussein for killing, by Saddam, in an effort to create another ploy around the world where Saddam kills his own people and tries to blame it on somebody else.
~ Ari Fleischer (1960-10-13 age:57), 2003-02-25
If so, then why is Bush killing them too?
This is not about public relations. This is about protecting the lives of the American people…If Saddam Hussein destroys the missiles that he said he never had… you’ve got to wonder what other weapons does he have?
~ Ari Fleischer (1960-10-13 age:57)
The missiles were no threat to the American people. They could not even make it half way to Israel much less America. The missiles in question were not secret. They simply went 32.19 km (20 miles) further than the allowed 144.84 km (90 miles) limit.
Think about what you are saying. You’re saying that leaders of other nations are buyable.
~ Ari Fleischer (1960-10-13 age:57), 2003-02-25
The press guffawed with laughter since Bush had just offered Turkey a $28 billion bribe.
War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46) (Ari Fleischer’s mentor)
In our time political speech and writing are largely the defense of the indefensible.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46)
Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46)
Sometimes the first duty of intelligent men is the restatement of the obvious.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46)
The nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46)
We have now sunk to a depth at which restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46)
Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.
~ George Orwell (1903-06-25 1950-01-21 age:46)
As societies grow decadent, the language grows decadent, too. Words are used to disguise, not to illuminate, action: you liberate a city by destroying it. Words are to confuse, so that at election time people will solemnly vote against their own interests.
~ Gore Vidal (1925-10-03 2012-07-30 age:86)
